In the coming days the covering and removal of illegal advertising facilities by motorways will start. The Ministry of Transport gave the ŘSD the instruction to first cover the first group of billboards as soon as possible and only then remove them at the expense of the advertisement owner. ŘSD will do so in accordance with the law within 15 days at the latest.

This way, the ministry reacted to the fact that Czech Outdoor company did not remove the advertising equipment even after the call. The five-day deadline for complying with the law has expired for the company. These are the first 14 billboards at the D1 motorway. The sending of calls and subsequent covering of the billboards will continue for other advertisement facilities also in the coming weeks.

"The advertisement providers knew five years before that they must remove the billboards as of September 1, 2017. So they had a long time to prepare themselves for the removal of their billboards and were supposed to do it themselves," says the Transport Minister Dan Ťok.

ŘSD will now remove the Billboards of those owners who ignored the law in the protective zone of 250 from the motorways. On category I roads it will be the regions who will handle advertisement banners in the protection zone of 50 meters and can use their Road administration and maintenance.

Only at motorways there is more than one thousand of billboards, so their removal will take months.
