What is the Ministry of Transport?

The Ministry of Transport (MT) is a central state administration authority (pursuant to Act no. 2/1969 Coll., On Setting Up Ministries and Other Central State Administration Authorities of the Czech Republic, as amended) .
 
What are the responsibilities of the MT?

Act no. 2/1969 Coll., On Setting Up Ministries and Other Central State Administration Authorities of the Czech Republic, as amended, in Section 17, stipulates that the Ministry of Transport is a central state administration authority for matters involving transportation, which is responsible for the creation of the country’s transportation policy, and is responsible, within the sphere of its powers, for its implementation.
 
What is the organisational structure of the MT?

The Ministry’s Sections are grouped into Divisions; at the head of each is a Deputy Minister or a Senior Director, with the exception of the Division of the Minister, which is led by the Minister himself.  Every Section has a Director at its head, who reports to the Head of the Division.  A Section may have various departments set up as its part, each led by the Head of the Department, who reports directly to the Section Director.

Where can I get the information to which I am entitled?

Responsibilities related to Act no. 106/1999 Coll., On Free Access to Information, have been entrusted, at the Ministry of Transport, to the Organisational Department of the Personnel and Organisational Section of the Ministry, where the information can be obtained.  Inquiries will be processed by Mrs. Darina Sedlářová.

How does the Ministry have to proceed when dealing with a request for information?

In providing information, the Ministry is, in line with Act no. 106/99 Coll., On Free Access to Information, further governed by the Methodological Instruction to Unify the Procedure of Public Administration Authorities in Granting Natural and Legal Persons the Right to Information, in line with Act no. 106/99 Coll.  In the case of an appeal, it proceeds according to Act no. 71/1967 Coll., On Administrative Procedure – The Administrative Code.
