The Ministry of Transport hereby informs that it has extended the authorisation it has granted to the Czech Rails’ Institute for Corporate Education, (České dráhy, a.s., Dopravní vzdělávací institut, a.s., IČ: 27378225, with its registered seat at Husitská 42, 130 00 Prague 3, (hereinafter referred to as ČD DVI) . ČD DVI is charged to carry out training for the test for the acquisition of the “Certificate of Professional Competence of a Safety Consultant for the Transportation of Dangerous Items in Railway Freight Transport", pursuant to Sec. 14 (5), Sec. 15 and 16 of Government Regulation no. 1/2000 Coll., On the Transport Rules for Public Railway Freight Transport, as amended.
When submitting their applications forms, applicants must select one of the following alternatives:
Basic course – The entire scope of the RID norm and all classes of dangerous items.
Abbreviated course – The entire scope of the RID norm, with the exception of classes 1 and 7 of dangerous items.
Specialised course – The entire scope of the norm, focusing on the basic principles and the class of dangerous items.
Specialised course – The entire scope of the norm, focusing on the basic principles and class 7 of dangerous items.
Extension course – Enables the holders of certificates of ADR consultants (road transport) to expand their competency and acquire the certificate of a safety consultant in railway freight transport.
On the basis of the authorisation, ČD DVI will conduct training according to the Rules for International Railway Transportation of Dangerous Items (RID). Detailed information about the course (manner, dates, etc.) can be obtained at the web pages www.dvi.cz (in Czech).
The examination may be taken with the Ministry of Transport, on the following dates:

In line with Government Regulation no. 1/2000 Coll., On the Transportation Rules for Public Railway Freight Transport, as amended and with the provisions of Section 1.8.3 of the RID rules, as published in the Communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, no. 34/2005, Collection of International Conventions, which amends Communications no. 61/1991 Coll., no. 251/1991 Coll., no. 274/1996 Coll., publishing changes and amendments to the Convention on International Railway Transportation (COTIF), published under no. 8/1985 Coll., an applicant for the test for the acquisition of the professional competence of a safety consultant, for the transportation of dangerous items in railway freight transportation, must enclose the following documents with his/her application:
- A document of the completion of secondary education;
- A document of at least 5-year’s practical experience in the sphere of handling dangerous items;
- A document of health competence;
- A document of having undergone training with the authorised organisation.
It is also necessary, pursuant to the provision of Sec. 15 (4) of Government Regulation no. 1/2000 Coll., that the applicant would document his/her identity to the test committee, present documents specified in par. 2 (b) and (c), and a proof of payment of the administrative fee (a CZK 200 stamp).
The Ministry of Transport reserves the right to change the dates and places of tests. An examination can be taken no earlier than fifteen days after the issuance of a document of undergoing training with the authorised organisation.
