· Discusses the amount of the annual quotas of for international passenger transport subject to authorizations, with non-EU countries, and arranges for the exchange of those authorizations;
· Ensures the performance of professional state supervision in the sphere of regular international transport, and the execution of ultimate state supervision in international passenger transport;
· Takes care of the administration of international passenger transport in relation to EU member states, pursuant to Regulation (EEC) no. 684/92, as amended by Regulation (EC) no. 11/98, pursuant to Regulation (EC) no. 12/98 and Regulation (EC) no. 2121/98;
· Issues authorizations for regular, occasional and shuttle international transport, with respect to non-EU countries;
· Arranges for the printing of Euro-licences for Czech transport undertakings active in international road passenger transport;
· Ensures the implementation of bilateral intergovernmental agreements on international road transport, concerning international passenger transport;
· Takes care of the INTERBUS Convention administration;
· Approves the schedules of international bus lines and their changes;
· Takes care of the administration which arises for the Czech Republic, due to its membership in the AETR Convention;
· Decides on appeals in administrative procedures concerning taxi services and international passenger non-regular transport;
· Co-operates in the drafting of the Act on Road Transport and of other Acts in the sphere of road passenger transport, and of their implementation norms;
· Decides, as the decision-maker of 1st instance, in matters concerning international road passenger transport, which the Act on Road Transport entrusts to the Ministry of Transport;
· Monitors the level of the execution of state administration by Regional Authorities;
· Assesses and collects administrative fees for tasks related to the issue of authorizations for international passenger transport for Czech and foreign transport undertakings.
