Directorate of Waterways

 

The Directorate of Waterways (Ředitelství vodních cest), a state authority set up by the Ministry of Transport, pursuant to Sec. 51 (1) of Act no. 219/2000 Coll., has its own web pages - www.rvccr.cz.

The fundamental responsibilities of the organisation include:

• Ensuring the preparation and implementation of the construction and modernisation of segments of significant waterways, and other buildings required for operation on waterways, and for their administration and maintenance, and the acquisition of other assets required for the administration and maintenance of waterways;
• Ensuring the administration, maintenance, and repair, of newly established segments of waterways, and other assets required for operation on them, and for their administration and maintenance;
• Exercise of the state’s ownership rights, with respect to real estate comprising the newly established segments of waterways;
• Exploitation and management of the assets owned and rented by the Czech State in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, in the Federal Republic of Germany, and the administration of those assets;
• Ensuring the background materials for the determination of conceptual plans in the sphere of waterways and their segments, co-ordination of large-scale repairs with the renovation and modernisation of segments of waterways.
