The Africa Smart Mobility Forum has opened up new opportunities for Czech companies in Africa1/6/2026|Press releasesThe Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized the Africa Smart Mobility Forum, an international conference held at the Černín Palace, aimed at supporting Czech companies and fostering cooperation in the field of modern transportation and infrastructure in African countries. The event brought together representatives of governments, investors, financial institutions, experts, and companies from Europe and Africa. The main goal was to showcase Czech solutions in the fields of smart mobility, rail and road transport, aviation, digitalization, and security technologies, and to open up new business opportunities for Czech companies in the rapidly growing African markets. “Africa is a continent of growth, dynamism, and opportunity. It is precisely here that the Czech Republic can offer concrete added value: a strong industrial base, high-quality technical know-how, and companies capable of succeeding in international competition and offering comprehensive solutions,” said Transport Minister Ivan Bednárik. During the forum, the Minister of Transport held talks with representatives from several African countries on opportunities for deeper cooperation in the fields of aviation, railway infrastructure, smart mobility, and transport safety. The discussions also focused on the involvement of Czech technology companies in upcoming projects funded, among other sources, through the European Global Gateway initiative. Minister Bednárik also discussed this topic with European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela. “Our ambition is not merely to discuss the future of mobility. We want to build long-term partnerships, create opportunities for joint projects, and open doors for Czech companies, technologies, and innovations in African markets,” added Minister Bednárik. The program included expert panels and roundtables dedicated to urban mobility and smart cities, the modernization of rail and road transport, and the development of aviation infrastructure. Companies had the opportunity to present their solutions, establish contacts with partners from African countries, and discuss specific investment and infrastructure projects. The forum will be followed by further activities, including visits to the URBIS trade fair (News | URBIS | BVV CZ), technical missions, and specialized meetings between Czech companies and foreign partners.
