The meeting was opened by transport minister Martin Kupka. He stressed the need for further development of research and innovations as well as coordination at national and European level in the strategic area, within the framework of individual initiatives and also the need for knowledge spillover to practice. Minister Kupka also called for the proposal of a possible coordination mechanism for cooperation in the whole area, which would help address the rules for testing and operation or infrastructure development. He also confirmed that the Czech Republic will continue to actively contribute to the common goals.

The meeting day was divided into two parts, with the morning programme involving a meeting of the data-connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM Partnership Group) group. It is attended by representatives of the partnership which includes mainly industry and academia, the European Commission and EU member states and Horizon Europe Associated States. On the agenda was further coordination on legal aspects of testing, synergies with European research projects and the needs, requirements and funding tools for data infrastructure development, including 5G for test and pilot operation. The meeting also included the election of a permanent representative of the whole group. Tereza Čížková, Deputy Director for Autonomous Mobility and Research, Development and Innovation at the Ministry of Transport, was unanimously elected to this position for the next two-year term.

During the afternoon meeting with the participation of representatives of EU member states, the EEA and the European Commission, which was chaired by Václav Kobera, Director of the Department for the Ministry of Transport, recommendations for strengthening coordination activities at the European level were discussed. They should accelerate the further development of the whole area, especially as regards the introduction of automated vehicles and systems into operation. The Ministry of Transport considers the possible strengthening of regular cooperation to be an important aspect of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. The recommendations will be presented at the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council meeting on 5 December 2022 in Brussels. During the meeting the use of EU navigation systems for the further development of this area was also discussed with the representatives of the EU Space Programme Agency EUSPA.
