Czech Airlines and Smartwings are launching an air bridge between the Czech Republic and China, impo

The first Airbus A319 of the Smartwings Group arrived in Prague after midnight with another delivery of necessary medical supplies from Shanghai, China. Boeing B737-900 is scheduled to arrive 24 hours later. The air bridge between the Czech Republic and China is jointly organized by the Ministries of Interior, Health and Transport. The delivery of face masks will be taken by firefighters from Prague to a warehouse in Pardubice.

“It is good that Czech airline companies have been involved in the transport of the necessary medical supplies. In the following days and weeks, CSA and Smartwings aircraft will rotate several times as needed and bring in tens of tons of face masks, respirators, protective suits, and hopefully lung ventilators will also be available. I would like to thank the employees of the Smartwings Group and express them my support,“ says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport Karel Havlíček.

The necessary protective material is ordered by the Ministry of the Interior together with the Ministry of Health, The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are helping Czech Airlines and Smartwings to obtain all necessary permits from the Chinese aviation authorities.
