"In four years we opened a hundred kilometres of motorways or city bypasses. But mainly we are going to build new, and if we build 200 kilometres now, there will soon be another 150. It is certainly not true that we are building nothing. We have to focus mainly on speeding up the construction, the whole basic motorway network should have been already build, "says Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

Currently the most advanced is the completion of the South Bohemian part of the D3 motorway, namely 19 km long sections Bošilec - Ševětín - Borek, which will be completed next year.

"We plan to start building the continuation of the motorway towards Austria this year, in particular another 20 kilometres on the bypass of České Budějovice, the construction will be finished in 2022. The three remaining sections, with a total length of 24 km, bound to the border, and then the remaining five sections of the Central Bohemian part of the D3 motorway will follow, "says Minister of Transport Dan Ťok.

This year, there are plans to open another 40 km of motorways and 1st class roads, namely four modernized sections of the D1 motorway, the D7 section near Postoloprty or the sections of roads I/22 near Strakonice in the South Bohemian Region, in Ústí nad Labem region it will be in summer the road I/62 Děčín - Vilsnice or I/34 Rouštany - Pohled in the Vysočina region.

Over the past four years, the total investment in transport was CZK 385 billion. At the same time, the prices of newly built motorways are being reduced. While one kilometre averaged 342 million crowns in 2008, the price is currently 55 percent lower, with a kilometre for 152 million.

Currently, according to the interactive map of the Ministry of Transport and the ŘSD, 121 kilometres of motorways are under construction, of which the modernization of the D1, which is basically a construction of a new motorway in the same track, is 40 kilometres. 1st class road under construction is 72 kilometres in total.
