Starting from today, motorists can now ride on another new section of the D3 motorway Veselí nad Lužnicí – Bošilec. "We have already opened the second section this year on the D3 motorway. Another two are also under construction and construction will soon start on the bypass of České Budějovice, for which we have already the design prepared. We want to start building next year," said the Transport Minister Dan Ťok.

The construction of the section between Veselí nad Lužnicí a Bošilec cost CZK 634.7 million (excluding VAT), which is a saving of almost 54 % compared to the presumed construction cost of CZK 1.4 billion (excluding VAT). The project was done by the joint venture STRABAG – EUROVIA – D3 Veselí – Bošilec and lasted two and a half years. Already this evening the section will be open for drivers.

Within the D3 motorway, a three-km section near České Budějovice between Borek and Úsilné was built as well. It has served our drivers since September 27.

There are currently 230 kilometres of new sections of motorways and category I roads under construction in the Czech Republic. It will be still this year and at the turn of next year when construction of another 152 km of motorways and category I roads will start.
