The government approved the development of the aviation industry and space activities to support the16/1/2017|Press releasesThe government approved at its meeting today project proposals in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) that shall help develop the aviation industry and space activities in the Czech Republic for 2017 and 2018. The annual budget for these activities is CZK 375 million. The government approved the development of the aviation field and space activities to support the industry Inspired by other countries, the third pillar of possible cooperation with ESA should be activated also in the Czech Republic. This means in practice that the Czech Republic will participate not only in compulsory and optional ESA activities, but will also be able to set up a special project designated for the Czech Republic. This project will primarily target the development of the Czech industry. The activities shall involve the development of industrial capacities, improvement of the technological level of our industry by introducing new technologies and practices applying to space activities and aviation. The project shall primarily prepare businesses for integration into the supplier chains of large companies. The businesses will be able to learn how to write project documentation, control quality and automate production processes. Another step which the Ministry of Transportation must take is to ask the European Space Agency to provide assistance with the establishment of this project. Two thirds of all 22 ESA member states must agree with the provision of this assistance.
