The event will take place at the Prague Congress Centre from 2 to 6 October. "This is one of the most important and prestigious events of this year, and not only in the field of transport. We can say without exaggeration that the whole road-building world will visit the Czech capital. For those of us who want to put all our efforts into completing the motorway network in the coming years, it is also an opportunity to explore and find out details about current trends in road and motorway construction and maintenance. And I believe that we will also be able to show our colleagues from abroad examples of good practice and a number of technological innovations," says transport minister Martin Kupka, who will be opening the congress together with Prague mayor Bohuslav Svoboda, the head of Road and Motorway Directorate Radek Mátl and the chairman of the Czech Road Society Petr Mondschein.

The main topics of the congress will be motorway administration, roads, mobility, resilient infrastructure and safety and sustainability, operations and maintenance. New topics such as carbon neutrality, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, etc. will also be represented. More than 3 500 delegates from around the world will attend the Congress, with a record 35 national pavilions and more than 300 exhibitors at the accompanying exhibition. There will also be a separate Czech-Slovak pavilion, offering visitors great professional and social programme, and students of transport and construction faculties will be able to attend the event.

The congress will also offer technical excursions, so delegates will have a unique opportunity to see such civil structures as the tunnels on the Prague ring road or the ongoing extension to the D4 motorway, which represents the first PPP motorway project in the Czech Republic.

Details about the event and the programme can be found on the PIARC website.
