This weekend, the final construction season on D1 has begun. On Friday, warning signs and protective barriers were deployed, and on Saturday 20 February, the modernisation of a section 23 Devět křížů (EXIT 168)–Ostrovačice (EXIT 178) in direction to Brno started. As of Monday, drivers will drive in a 2+2 mode in carriageway in direction to Prague. Works on the other sections will start in the course of March.
The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking new astronauts. Candidates from all Member States, including the Czech Republic, can apply. In the next few years, ESA plans to launch hundreds of other careers within generational change. This opens new doors for the Czech applicants to join a prestigious sector with high added value.
By signing the concession agreement, the minister of transport Karel Havlíček confirmed that the construction of the remaining 32 kilometres and the following 25-year operation of D4 motorway will be managed by DIVia consortium. This marks the beginning of a pilot PPP project, which represents an alternative way to ensure construction and long-term operation of transport infrastructure, including the funding.
The Chamber of Deputies approved the conclusion of a concessionary agreement to complete the remaining 32 kilometres and to operate the D4 motorway between Příbram and Písek. The deputies agreed with financial liabilities of the state stemming from the proposal of a concessionary agreement to design, construct, finance, operate and maintain the D4 motorway in the section Háje – Mirotice and to operate and to maintain the existing adjacent sections Skalka – Háje and Mirotice – Krašovice. The financial implementation is in a nominal value of CZK 18,761,377,912 and EUR 446,191,297.
The train journey from Prague to České Budějovice will take only 100 minutes. After the tunnels on 4th railway corridor will be finished in 2023, the journey to South Bohemia will be faster by 25 minutes. Minister of transport Karel Havlíček stated it during an inspection day of transport constructions in South Bohemia.
After a quarter century, the era of classic paper toll vignettes ended on 31 January. From 1 February, drivers can use only electronic vignettes to drive on motorways.
