The Road and Motorway Directorate has started construction of the continuation of the D3 motorway from Nažidla to the state border with Austria. The 3.5km section will replace the current I/3 road and will largely follow its footprint.
By the end of 2020, more than 8 million motor vehicles were registered in the Czech Central Register of Vehicles (CRV), out of which 75% accounted for passenger cars (M1 category). Although diesel or petrol fuel cars prevail, thanks to the current trends and state aid electric vehicles are on the rise (ca. 10,000), accompanying the predominant gas powered cars (over 126,000) in the alternative fuels category. We noticed a large increase in registration of electric passenger cars after the market with conventional vehicles decreased last year.
Thirty important traffic construction projects are delayed due to ecological and other associations. Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček will negotiate with them again with the aim of completing these constructions. In addition, the Minister will promote the Line Act in the Chamber of Deputies to speed up the construction. It is one of the priorities of the resort.
The Motorways and Road Administration Organisation ŘSD has a new director: Pavol Kováčik replaced Jan Kroupa. His job is to accelerate the preparation of new motorway projects, set efficient management and control mechanisms, improve cooperation with the police and regions during emergencies and communication towards the public. The transport minister Vladimír Kremlík will be happy if the recent head of ŘSD stays in the sector.
